Turns out the hard drive where I house all my future picks for mixes has gone apeshit. Hopefully it’s just the power supply - will know more in a few days when the new one arrives. Had a pretty good week since I last dropped in to post a mix - managed to catch Shearwater and Sharon van Etten at Johnny Brenda’s and I left feeling more than content. What Jonathan Meiburg lacked in stage persona/presence he more than made up for with his true-to-form, room-encompassing vocals. Oh Sharon, she was good too. It was also a great week for Big School - sold a few records (thanks!) and soon I’ll be able to announce a few new releases that I’ve been working on putting together. Lastly, I apologize for a big, fat oopsy - I failed to include Sarah Jaffe’s minimalistic take on Drake’s Shut It Down on last week’s covers mix. Problem rectified.
